This year's World Telecommunication Day, suggestively titled "5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1..", hinted that this year and this occasion were special. Unlike in previous years, the event was held on May 29 this year. According to the original plans, we would have watched the launch of the Axiom-4 mission's rocket live at the event, carrying our second Hungarian astronaut, Tibor Kapu, on board. The launch of the mission had already been postponed several times, and this day seemed to be the most favorable launch window. Unfortunately, the technical and weather conditions were still not favorable on this day either, so Dr. Orsolya Ferencz joined not from the American space center, but from the University of Győr.

There was no doubt that we also wanted to share the achievements we had made in space research and space telecommunications with the interested participants of World Telecommunication Day. We approached the organizers of World Telecommunication Day, who, true to tradition, gave us the opportunity to present in the student section. This year was special for us, as we could once again welcome renowned figures who have followed our activities since our very first steps: Dr. Orsolya Ferencz, János Solymosi, and András Gschwindt. It was an honor for us to welcome Karina Cessy, ITU-R space telecommunications expert, at our ground station.

1) Development of the ground station - the road towards the X band, Marcell Mike

The ground station makes it possible to receive and decode signals from meteorological satellites as well. In addition to the VHF, UHF, L and S bands, we would also like to prepare for receiving the X band, so that we can capture more detailed, higher-resolution images. Receiving the signals is also a challenge in terms of the large amount of data that needs to be stored and processed. His presentation can be viewed here:

2) Twins in space - the Győr heart. Zoltán Nagy, Ágoston Koppány Szűcs, Gábor Marton, Szilárd Pónya

Within the Hunity-1 satellite, the students undertook building an independent satellite in PQ size. The presentation on the construction of the new satellite also reports on the design and testing of the modules created. Their presentation can be viewed here:

3) Twins in space - the Győr soul, Máté Péter Tóth, Marcell Mike, Bence Nagy

When designing an independent PQ-sized satellite within the Hunity-1 satellite, frequency and orbit coordination are especially important. The presentation gives us international insight into these mysteries. Their presentation can be viewed here:

4) How to measure with a low-altitude atmospheric balloon - Eszter Takács, Barnabás Móri, Botond Tóth-Csehi

Airships and balloons can be an ideal solution for terrestrial radio communication networks. During the presentation, we can also learn about the methodology of measurement preparation based on the tests carried out in Gyermely. It is very important that they want to recover the helium used, being mindful of the scarcity of helium and reducing measurement costs. Their presentation can be viewed here:
